Looking for something in between Haven and Centreparcs...

So I am looking for centreparcs but without the centreparcs budget - AIBU Grin

What I mean is I'd like a lodge/cottage type place in a nice complex with on site stuff to keep kiddies happy ages 2-16. I've looked at some haven type things but the accommodation looks too crammed in.

Surely there are loads of places in between these two options...but I do not know where to look, any recommendations greatly appreciated.

I am SE and happy to drive 3 hours max. I will be looking for school hols so £££.

Thanks :)

Sandyballs in the New Forest and Whitemead in The Forest of Dean are great. Sorry, can't do links on phone but easily Googled!
Both have log-cabin type lodges, swimming pool, soft play, bike ride trails, activities etc. but much cheaper than Center Parcs and not as naff as Butlins / Pontins.

Duinrell in the Netherlands. Went there as a teenager and it's still up there with Florida as my favourite childhood holidays. Hoping to go next year with DSis, DSIL and my lot and do Eurocamp again.

Sorry - bit longer than 3 hours drive! Ignore me...

How about centerparcs in Belgium or Holland? Several within a couple of hours of Calais. Cheaper in the last week of August as their kids are mostly back at school then.

I have an absolute hate of rows of caravans and had a dire holiday at Aire Haven
I've looked at bluestone and have camped at Kelling Heath, it was good, but once you start looking for lodges in school holiday time the prices are very similar to CP but with smaller pools and not as much to do

Bluestone is really lovely. I much preferred it to centre parcs.

I also adore Bluestone. We've been 3 yrs now. It is expensive but lovely.

Just come back from 3rd visit to bluestone and can't wait to go again. It's brilliant.

Kelling heath and Clippesby hall in Norfolk are both great and both cheaper than CP.
