is there too much light pollution for star gazing with DHS new telescope?

want to go somewhere October half term, dcs 5 and 3. CP stupidly expensive but Bluestone a long trek for us.

is there anything similar? or even self catering accommodation with a good pool for toddlers

any help much appreciated

I didn't know what Bluestone is, and what is CP??

I should look on 'Sky at Night' website, watch the programme, and try and contact the astronomy clubs nearest to your area.

We are in south Devon, which isn't good for dark skies, but years ago I drove up across Exmoor at night, and that was very dark; one of the famous comets was around at the time (forget which) and I saw that very clearly.

Try and contact Dr Chris Lintott, or some of his team. Did you see the 'Stargazing Live' series? There is probably still some of it on 'watch again' or they have a web site I think.

CP is Centrrparcs. Bluestone similar but slightly cheaper. Think OP wants similar holiday park type place with the added bonus of clear skies, rather than somewhere to star gaze specifically with nothing for small children!

exactly titchy. just somewhere with a pool and also dark skies. given we live in London anywhere is better!
