Looking for some recommendations for half term for difficult to please teen Hmm

What about changing of the guards? Is there a good spot to see this?

And any recommendations for websites for cheaper west end shows?

I'm planning to visit the Harry Potter studios.

What are they in to?
Just wandering around some of the older parts, and stopping for lunch can be fun.
Otherwise hundreds of different museums/galleries
Ride on the river

Namco Piccadilly Circus and Planet Hollywood (offer coupons around everywhere), take a skateboard down to the SouthBank if the weather permits??

10 year old is easy to please - is into everything going.

14 year old is at too cool stage - would stay in all day on Xbox with fifa15 Confused

I have 2 days in London (excluding the Harry Potter studios).

So I thought day 1, kings cross for platform 9 3/4 (arriving at King's cross so handy to do this).

Then Science Museum & Natural History Museum and maybe a West End Show.

Or South Bank, then show?

Day 2 - changing of guards, Tower of London, millennium bridge (Potter connection)?

Don't think skateboards would work as we are travelling v v light from Ireland.

my teens liked Ripleys (yuk) and the London Dungeon. they also liked the Woman in Black but it might be a bit too scary for the 10 year old though cool for the 14 yr old. the free museums are always good value. open bus tour? changing of the guard was a bit naff because we couldn't get anywhere near it due to all the other tourists. wicked is a good show with older kids if it is on.

Can anyone recommend any websites for cheaper / discount shows?

Namco should please them both though? Websites include the usual lastminute.com groupon livingsocial and good discounts are available if you have rail tickets via 241 visitlondon

Changing of the guard = lots of standing around in the cold and not able to see much.
For tickets go to the half price booth in Leicester square and see what they have available. Blue Man group or Stomp are great choices for grumpy teenagers rather than traditional musicals; and are usually on offer.
The South Bank is a good call- great views of the river, bridges, the Shard, usually stalls for browsing , often cool exhibitions on.
Don't underestimate the amount of walking you do in London- even navigating the tube system and build in regular refreshment stops for tired feet and hungry kids.

London eye with views of Westminster, Dowing Street and Buckingham Palace. There was also short 3D film when we visited which was fun. You can walk from there along the river to the Southbank Centre and Tate Modern ( free events) then to Shakespeare's Globe theatre and then outdoor Borough? market near London Bridge tube. There are lots of nice cafes on the way. We thought Harry Potter world was really interesting with lots of info on film making as well as props, models etc. Have a great time!

Cabinet War Rooms are good & near St James's Park etc.
