Bath with a 2.5 year old - what to do?

We've got 2 days in Bath - the tourist site I found doesn't have anything listed for children at all! The adventure playground in Victoria Park is one thing - anything else at all?

Think there's something at the theatre, might be called Egg, which is aimed at children. Like a workshop.

For soft play there is the Zany Zone in the sports centre.

Open top bus tour?

What kind of things do you want?

Deffo the EGG theatre - back of the Theatre Royal

In the middle of town is Parade Gardens - right by the river and a lovely site to sit and be - safe for the children to charge round - and a little tea hut thing for ice - cream teas, sarnies etc

Open Top bus tour is good - but expensive IMHO

Walking and seeing the sites by foot is always good ( remember to look up at the buildings - some lovely and sometimes weird statues etc)

Victoria Park and Botanical Gardens are easily accessed from the centre of town (just off Gay St or access from Royal Crescent)it's free and a massive play park - you can also feed the ducks in the pond which has always kept DD amused

Sit and have a cuppa or something in Abbey Churchyard and watch the street entertainers

Will you be here over a weekend and what time of year ???

Boating - I forgot boating - you can hire a boat from Bath boating station and row yourself or take a trip on the "pride of Bath" from the Weir - in the centre of town

There's also the American Museum in Claverton

DD loves a good carriage ride (nicer than the open top bus !!)

Also try this just outside of Bath at Bitton stem railway and river boat trip - bloody good value too

avon valley

Oooh - God it's all pouring out now - Go to Walcot St and visit the kids shop Tridias - they often have childrens story time but always have a decent activity table set up. Near to it is Hedgemead Park - nice for a stroll but uphill !!(as is everything in Bath unless of course you're going down!!)also near to the Bath Aqua Glassworks where you can meander around and watch them hand making the glass - with small hands safely tied up in a straight jacket of course !!

Anyway - have fun may see you in Parade gardens !!
