Are connecting hotel rooms a thing of the past?

And if so, how do families stay together on holiday? There don't seem to be that many places with family rooms, and even fewer with rooms that can accommodate a family of 5. We'll be ok this year, since ds3 is only 2, but I can't see how we'll do it in the future.

In this country?

We regularly stay at a hotel in York with connecting rooms, so there are some places out there that do them.

Novotel in Sheffield had connecting rooms and a buy one get one half price deal when we stayed there over Easter.

But you might not want to summer in Sheffield Grin

Not a thing of the past, but more to do with the type of hotel.

Those aimed at business travellers will have very few (Hilton T5 only have 5).

Premier Inn near Huntingdon or Peterborough has them.

Thanks, it's Wales this summer and I've had a look at so many places online, none of which have connecting rooms. I just had an idea that there was much more available in this vein. Most of our two weeks will be spent in self-catering accommodation, but I'd like someone else to make me breakfast on at least a couple of mornings!

Not sure where in Wales you're after, but a friend has stayed here and highly recommends it.

If not I think Celtic Manor caters for families well (but at a price).

Other friends have stayed at Mercury Holland House and The Copthorne in connecting rooms.

Thanks Iwish, that place looks beautiful. We're staying around Pembrokeshire this summer, think maybe North Wales for next year, so I'll keep that in mind.

I've discovered places don't show them online but have them if you phone up.
Id appreciate recommendations too though!
