Holiday park

Can anyone recommend a holiday park in the new forest that would be good with a toddler, has an indoor pool and which has log cabin style accommodation (ie. not camping!).

when are you looking to go? would suggest you go on a site like cottages direct or lastminute cottages. also try the local tourist boards website. then you can add in filters for the things that you do/don't want. not been to new forest myself. could help with wales or cornwall if you have no luck

Yes, Sandy Balls. Strange name I know, but highly recommended by lots of people I know who have been there, including my DH. They have a website.

Thank you. I looked at Sandy balls. I know it's not a hotel but does it feel vaguely luxury in the chalets or is it very basic?

I haven't stayed in one but DH has and he said they were 'really nice'. He's a man if few words but apparently much nicer than Center Parcs, if that's any help.
Might be worth starting another thread asking if any MN's have stayed in one to be sure.

I have just returned from a week in the new forest and went with a company called shorefield. They have a few sites in and around the new forest. It had log cabins, swimming pools and other entertainment. I stayed in a caravan so can't comment on what the log cabins were like.

Hoburne - there are several around the New Forest area (Hoburne park, Naish and Bashley I think).

Certainly, Naish has got the log cabins (stayed in them, very nice!).

Swimming pool at Naish has a flume, but goes very shallow, and outdoor fun pool for the summer.

Play park and indoor soft play for under 5s and great kids club too.

My DDs are 10 and 7 now, but have been going there for years, since they were little and they love it!

Thank you all. What where the caravans like at shorefield chally. They have a really good deal on the caravans and chalets at the moment-£79 for three nights in a basic chalet. But how basic will it be?!

Sandy Balls! We've just been there for the fourth year running. We stayed in a lodge the first time we went - it was really nice, far nicer than the time we went to Center Parcs! Now we stay in a caravan as they're cheaper than the lodges, they're absolutely fine.

I rented a caravan from an owner rather than the company so I couldn't comment but it had central heating which for me is a must because they get so cold at night.
