We stayed in a flat in St Ives itself, not sure where the dynamite bar was. The seagulls were what woke me up, kept thinking I heard a baby crying!

Bramblebooks - thanks for that info - we love indian and definately will look that one up! Just trying to adjust our route to see if we can avoid the road works !!

we are going in a couple of weeks. last year the forcast was rubbish, but every day was fine, just overcast, so be positive! get a beach 'sun'tent, and just crawl into it every time it rains - thats what we do! get the kids wetsuits, and they'll be warm on the beach whatever the weather!
We always go for a walk along the 'Clodgy' coast if overcast (not rainy) on top of Porthmeor beach (down the hill from your site).
Catch the little train up to lelant, and have a coffee in the garden centre, and then come back again. Or you can walk, but it maybe too far for little legs. Lovely carvery at a pub in lelant.
We would go to Eden on the way down, as we can't get into our cottage until after 2, so we would get to Eden early to miss the traffic, and arrive in St Ives in the afternoon.

Where are you staying Tigi?

tigi · 15/08/2006 22:33

We've got a cottage booked in St Ives, just off a back street. I love it there!

Sounds lovely. We may cross paths at some point then.

Hi,

Does anyone know of any good leisure pools around St Ives? Ie ones with slides/waves or similar please?

NellieShep · 21/08/2015 13:56

We are going to be in Hayle and setting off tomorrow.... it is peeing down and I am feeling grumpy and sad that the last week of the holiday... (and I have been working the rest of the time) is so pants..
Storms and lightning are the forecast..
:(

NellieShep · 21/08/2015 13:57

PS: we are camping....

YonicScrewdriver · 21/08/2015 14:05

Oh you poor things it's bloody miserable down here this week Sad

I hope you're able to make the best of it - going for a mooch around some towns might be a way of avoiding getting too wet.
Falmouth, which has the maritime museum too.
I'm afraid I don't know that area very well, but there are a few NT houses in mid Cornwall that will keep you under cover.

The biomes at Eden are dry, but there's a lot of outdoor walking to be done to get to them. Dinosaur Uproar is on at the mo, DS 2.4 loved it!

We are in bude and the weather was lovely from lunchtime until about 5-6pm. Despite weather forecast saying torrential rain all day.
Friends and family keep posting pics of the glorious sun in berkshire. Grr!
We've just decided to get in with it. We have waterproofs and the kids have wetsuits which keep them warm.
