Im a bit baffled by the website to be honest. I get the bit that you drive on and drive off but do you stay with your car all the time? Can you get out? Are there toilet facilities etc?

You stay with your car the whole time, in fact you should stay in your car the whole time, there are toilets DH and dc have used them I never have.

You stay in your car but can get out and stretch legs. Yes there are loos. Only 35 mins. It's fab.

I've done the drive-on one. You can get out your vehicle, but you stay with your car. The carriage is lit and there are toilet facilities available.

You can get out and walk around, but there is nowhere to go. Toilets are fine. You mustn't smoke or take flash photos because they have smoke and flash detectors that are very sensitive and can stop the train.

I love the Tunnel, much better (and quicker) than the ferry.

it is totally ace.
kids were asleep when we drove on really early in the morning.
they slept all the way to france.

other times they got out and walked around I totally recommend it.

We've used it loads.

You check in as you arrive, either go straight to queue or, if you are early, go to the passenger terminal (like a service station) until your train is called.

Drive through passport and security, the queue to load.

You literally drive on to the train (either single storey or double decker), and the staff guide you where to stop.

Advised to stay in your car, but you can get out and use the loo, if it works..., and have a look out of the window at the pitch blackness.

Then, just drive off the other end and go.

Very easy, very quick, just gets a bit manic at half terms etc.

You have to stay inside your car.

There are toilets at either end of the train, you get there by walking along a little path at the side of the carriages and opening the doors between.

The journey is really short though, you will be through before you know it.

It is the best way to get to the other side of the Channel, so quick and so hassle free.

We normally book an early train, get up and drive and then have a breakfast picnic and a flask of coffee while we're on the train.

It is brilliant.

I love it. If you turn up early, you can often get an earlier train than the one you booked
