It's brilliant for children that age, definitely worth a trip. Have a look on their website as they might have a jousting tournament on sometime over the holidays. Definitely take a picnic.

Warwick castle is awesome! Definitely watch the knights and take a picnic. Also if you want to go into the princess or merlin towers be sure to book a time as soon as you get there, they usually sell out by middayish.

It's fabulous for both kids and adults as there's a lot to entertain the children (it's now owned by the people who have the London dungeon so it has a touch of theme park about it) but also there's a lot of history and beautifully decorated rooms for grown ups too. Warwick itself is good for a bit of a wander too - nice tea rooms and shops.

It is lovely in lots of ways but i was a bit underwhelmed on my last visit...i'd been years ago and it was stunning but nowadays it is very expensive, the dungeons are fabulous but extremely scary..lots of things jumping out at you...my 12 yo and friends loved it but my 7 yo had to be taken out. Tussauds group own it now so kind of theme parkish without the rides! Lots of payable extras, very busy and plenty of merchantise. I used clubcard vouchers..if i'd paid hard cash i would have felt let down. Be prepared for long walk from carpark, crowds and a billion people in the cafe trying to get lunch at the same time...try to get deals on entrance tickets, take more cash for the extras and a picnic!

We really like it - there is lots going on - trebuchet firing, knights jousting, flight of the eagles, and over the summer they are also doing Horrible Histories with different activities based around different eras. We've never bothered with the paid extras like the Dungeon or the Merlin tower, as there's so many other activities going on. Their website is pretty good. A picnic is a great idea - the onsite catering options are expensive with long queues.
