Sunny and rainy day activities around Dartmouth, Devon

Going to Dartmouth area early September just for 4 nights, would like to pull together a bit of an itinerary and cover both eventualities i.e sunny and rainy days.

Taking my DM and DD (2y.o). The beach is a must, but which one is best? Any good pubs, nothing too fancy but decent grub. Really any hints and tips would be much appreciated.

TIA

Hi! Never done any of Devon with a toddler but do know the area quite well. Anyway The Seahorse is lovely in Dartmouth bit pricey but look out for offers. Spend a day in Totnes it has some lovely unusual shops and some excellent places to eat. Traditional pubs tea rooms and even vegan cafe if that's your thing! My favourite thing to do in the area is the Round Robin. Google it. It's a boat trip and a bus and the kings wear steam train. You can also do The Eden project from there and also Plymouth isn't far. The aquarium there might go down well! Also, kingsbridge is like Totnes but has an old fashioned cinema and one of those places where you can paint your own pottery. It also has a small boat trip across the water to Salcombe. If you're driving you can buy a parking permit and park anywhere in the South Hams district for the duration of your stay. Re beaches, I like Slapton,Blackpool sands, Hope Cove and Torcross. You may need more than 4 days! Oh, and another thing, Dartmouth has lovely antique shops! Have a lovely time!

Book a table for breakfast at Alf Rescos.
Beaches like Mrsnec said above, my favourite is blackpool sands.
Crabbing at salcombe and i guess dartmouth too
The round robin steam train, boat and open top bus is essential.
Totnes has rare breeds farm and steam train. Hire bikes and cycle along the flat cycle path to dartington where there is toy shop and play area.
If you go to salcombe, take the little boat to the other side to some lovely beaches and walks. East portlemouth?
The swimming pool in kingsbridge is good.
Yes, to the aquarium in plymouth also. Mayflower museum and paint your own pottery, fish and chips at the barbican.
In plymouth there's also a fab boat tour of the harbour.

i think the theatre is called the flavel, they do stuff for kids too.

Been meaning to do breakfast there for years! Also food wise I like the Old Bakery in Kingsbridge and The Start Bay Inn at Torcross.

Totnes has a pottery painting place.
Go crabbing in Dartmouth on the quay - we caught loads there.
There's also a fort to explore.

Kingsbridge has a fab chippy with a pub and restuarant attached....we went on a very rainy day, sat in restaurant and had the most amazing F & C's.
