Budget holiday hunting

Hi everyone! we've just come into a bit of money (£600) and as we were stoney broke before we've decided to put it towards a week long summer holiday for myself, my DH and our 2 year old -my word we need it! We want to stay in the UK, somewhere that is reachable by car from central Scotland, and somewhere that is above all relaxing, but will still be enjoyable for DD. We love the idea of camping (I am slightly less in love with this tbh but DH is a big ray mears fan bless him) or a wee cottage somewhere but don't really know where to start! I've been to lochhouses in east lothian (www.harvestmoonholidays.com/) and loved that, so something along the lines of that would be amazing. In an ideal world we would like to be close to a quiet beach, maybe a pub, an outdoor cooking facility, with not too many other people but perhaps with other kiddies/ animals to play with - I am a little bit in love with the idea of a hot tub! I think we would happy to go for a day trip somewhere but we would be very happy with a self contained place where there's plenty to do on site. We're not big on crazy entertainment a la butlins and really do like the whole eco friendly/bushcrafty type of thing. Not that we're picky or anything! Does anyone have any recommendations for us? Thank you very much in advance!

What about Youth Hostels ?
Seem to combine the outdoors, but you have some inside space if you don't get the weather.
You can camp at some hostels too, and use the facilities if you want.
Certainly worth a mooch anyway Here

Try googling camping pods. A bit sturdier and warmer than a tent, but still outdoor living. They have them all over the UK in various parks. I think they are about £40 a night.
