Centre parcs - do you need to book all the activities in advance?

Never been before but are looking at booking a weekend.

Just thinking of doing the tree top trail, maybe crazy golf and the falconry flying thing. Which of these do you need to book beforehand?

I'm hoping none of them and then if its pissing it down we won't feel that we've paid so have to do it!

I dont think you have to, but alot of people do, meaning you might miss out if you dont.

Thanks, think will book the tree trail thingy and leave the others for now.

When are you going?

We've been a couple of times and have always just booked when we get there. However we've only done things like badminton and kids rollerskating but we've never misses out on anything.

If you're going peak times, school hols etc and you're dead set on doing certain things I'd probably book ahead.

Going in June, at a weekend. So hopefully not as busy as in the sumemr holidays.

DD was just angling to book some more activities, "but what are we going to do all day".

I like the idea of the activites but then to me prebooking stuff defeats the object of a relaxed time. I'd be constantly clock watching and thinking that we needed to get to xyz. But then I don't want to be bored either. I've told dd that the water park/pool looks so good that we'll be in there all the time. Grin

And I've read on TripAdvisor to get to the pool early or you won't get a table/chairs. Am I missing something - what would I want a table/chairs for? If I'm at the pool I'm going to be swimming.

Swim in the morning till we're fed up, go out have lunch, bike ride/walk. Then go back and swim again if we want. I can't see any reason to hang round poolside??? I'll be swimming as much as dd - is it mainly if you have people who aren't keen on swimming?

I was just about to post the same thing! We are going to Whinfell soon and I keep putting off booking activities as we are the sort of folk who will go with the flow of the day, I don't want to be getting the kids up first thing to go to an activity or not be able to enjoy the day for clock watching. I've checked availability for some things that look interesting and there are about 40 spaces left etc so doubt it will be massively busy!

CP activities do get booked up well in advance via online booking and phone bookings, so if there's something you're desperate to do I'd recommend you book it in advance. They do hold back a number of places on some activities for on-village bookings because they were receiving complaints from guests who were arriving and finding that they couldn't book any activities due to advance bookings.

If there is something you really want to do then book it. But don't do what we done the first time we went and prebook activities for the whole week. Like you said it defeats the object of having a relaxing holiday if you have loads planned and places you have to be at certain times.

Last time we went we didn't prebook anything and there was nothing we wanted to do that we were unable to do. We played badminton, tennis, went on the pedalos on the lake, went bowling and didn't need to prebook for any of them.
