Anyone been to this cottage complex before? Any good? Aside from the Eden Project, what else would you recommend locally? Thanks so much...

Yes we went at new year!

We went to St Ives, St Mawes, Perranporth. There was a good soft play place called raze the roof locally.

But otherwise didn't do much!

Yes we went in the summer. The accommodation was good - loads of space, nice bathrooms, really well equipped kitchen and utility room. The indoor pool is small and a bit run down looking, and deep. Outdoor pool really cold. Restaurant on site is expensive and food hit and miss, but was ideal for us - our three year old met up with all the other kids at dinner time and they had a great time playing together (there are toys and a pool table, and no-one minds the kids running about), and our baby was only 2 months so it was good not having to get in the car and find somewhere to eat, or bother cooking. The one time we went out for dinner it was really stressful! They do special nights like pizza night, magic night etc, and you can take the food back to your house if you don't want to eat in. If you want to completely self-cater there is big Tesco about 20 mins away in Truro, or really good Spa about 2 mins away that has loads of local produce.

Things to do locally - we went to Falmouth which was quite nice, and there is a "park and float" as well as park and ride. We went to St Ives, over to a beach somewhere near Newquay, to a lovely beach just round from Falmouth. Everywhere is in fairly easy reach. The reception people have good lists of beaches with details of facilities etc. We went to a few National Trust places - Trelissick has good cafe, great climbing trees and cool mini play area - on the river ferry thing to St Mawes, St Mawes castle.

If you have small children and want somewhere central for exploring Cornwall, I'd say it's pretty good.

Thanks for the tips ladies. Always conscious that when it rains in Cornwall, you're struck for things to do. Did any of you get out to the Roseland Pensinsula area at all?

Just returned and we had a great time. Cottage was lovely. Was great to have the restaurant as an option and they also hosted fab activities for the kids like easter egg decorating and a meeting some animals zoo session. The swimming pool was great when it rained, but it was rather small. Staff great. Would definately recommend...
