Booked in for beginning of Feb. got 3 bed with steam room. Any tips? It's me, dh and 3 dc aged 12 years, 4 years and 3 months.

Also I was going to take our own cot mattress, is that mad? And do they let guests smoke in lodges? We are non smokers but as dd less that 6 months want smoke free furnishings.

Any other advice on what we should take and activities to do?

Have a lovely time CP is a really good choice when you have DC's with big age gaps as there is lots for them all to do.

Are you close to the pool? If not they have a land train which will get you around although not sure if it takes buggies.

The villas are usually nice and clean but if you do have any problems just report it at the reception desk and they sort it out very quickly.

Not sure if the safari park will be open in Feb so do check. We visited Stonehenge first time we went on a very cool windy January day 18 month DS2 did not enjoy it was really cold!

And yes do prebook activities but if you are going in term time some kids things are cancelled because there is not enough take up.

I guess quietness depends on where your exact lodge is and who books in the lodges near to you. I think the designs were pretty good though for trying to maximise your privacy - we were on little street of about 5 or 6 lodges but it felt like we were in our own oasis, with the odd sound of kids/bicycle bells from the nearby paths and lake.
Also agree that it was clean - no issues for us at all.

It's beautifully peaceful in our lodge - the ducks and squirrels come right up to patio doors.

You need the fitelogs - the ones wrapped in paper that you light the paper they are £10 for 3. Lovely in the evening.

I wish was had brought extra bread (for ducks).

Peanuts and wild birds seed (for squirrels and tits).

The DCs love it - today we are going swimming twice - swimming in the evening is fantastic.
