Going to Brighton for a Thurs and Fri night at end of Jan for DP's birthday (no DCs). Staying in Premier Inn in centre of town, no car. Any recommendations for what to do, good restaurants, nice pubs?
TIA

Have a mooch around the Laines, the old cobbled ones for antique shops and the North Laines with trendy cafes and independent shops. Go to the Museum and Pavillion..walk on seafront. On the new wheel...lots of nice cafes and restaurants all over...

Yes, all that froggers1 said. The Royal Pavilion is a must, it's amazing. The Lanes and North Laines lovely, a walk along the seafront to Hove is nice to see all the lovely architecture.

If you have transport, a trip to Devils Dyke or Ditchling Beacon and a walk on the Downs would be nice. Great views!

Donatello's is a reasonably priced Italian restaurant in the Lanes which is lovely. Other than that, there a rye tons of restaurants to choose from.

Enjoy your weekendSmile

Thanks Doyouthink, we don't have a car so will look at stuff within walking distance. Will look up Donatellos as we're both big Italian food fans - ta!

The museum and art gallery next to the Pavilion is great and has a nice cafe. I'd recommend the two course menu at English's for a tenner, you can't go wrong. The house red is nice too. There are a lot of small independent art galleries if that's your thing, some in the Lanes and the North Laines and others under the seafront arches. Afternoon tea at the Grand? Maybe a show at Komedia or Theatre Royal? Walk down the promenade as far as Hove and get an ice cream at Marrocco's to reward you. Pubs wise, for something not themed or chained - maybe the Basketmakers (Gloucester Rd)? Have a wander up St James' Street (from the Old Steine) into Kemp Town, many interesting independent shops along the way.
