Coming to London in December

Hi!

I am spending a month with my two kids (6 and 3 yrs) in London starting mid December. Given that we are coming from Sunny California, America, I have no idea the kind of clothes we'll need for the London winter. Any tips on what I should pack (clothes etc.) for the kids and myself.

I do have a double stroller that we are taking with us, but not sure how useful it would be in the rain.

Thank you for all your help!
Monica

Layers layers layers... we don't live in the UK at the moment either, but when we come back, I usually dress my 3 and 5 year olds in a vest first, then a longsleeve top, then a fleece/jumper/cardi, then a coat. For bottoms I would suggest leggings/jeans for girls or skirts with wool tights, and for boys jeans/cords/fleecey bottoms.

Most places are heated inside so once you get in you can just peel off layer after layer.

For myself its usually the same drill. Regarding your pushchair, do you have a rain cover cos you will definitly need it !!

I live in London and agree with pp with clothes plus warm coat with hoods, you'll also need hats, scarves, gloves, wellies.. all of which can be picked up in london! where in london will you be staying? each area tends to have its own high street, so shopping never a problem! does your 6 year old need to be in a pushchair? sounds heavy pushing a 3 yo and 6 yo around london, never mind on and off public transport, down busy streets, in shops etc etc.. you would definitely need a rain cover for your pushchair, maybe bring (or buy one here) a single with raincover for your 3 year old? hth's!

Thanks pp and crepes for your feedback. We are debating between a single or a double stroller. Cause of the time difference and stuff the few days will be spent fighting jetlag for which we've found the double stroller really handy for kids. They sleep in the stroller. But being in the city with traffic and stuff we have to consider again.

Will start shopping for the stuff then! Thank you!
