We are going for the first time in ages, with DS (9) and DD (6). DH isn't arriving until saturday monring and the peeps and I wont get there in time to do much on the friday but I really want to book some family things for saturday and sunday. Anything you would really recommend? I wondered about the early morning Woodland Awakening walk? Anyone done that?

TIA

We're going next month and so far I've booked the pony walk for my girls, and the aerial adventure for my DH and one eldest DD.

Will probably then just do things like rowing boats, swimming, playgrounds etc. This is an unexpected holiday so don't want to spend loads if I can help it!

Canoeing / paddle boats and all that kind of thing is lovely in good weather, you don't really need to book ahead either.

thanks very much. I've booked the aerial thing too Gorran for DS and me and some table tennis and a pedalo. I probably didn't need to bother booking the pedalo but still, It'll be nice to have a few things sorted and they'll help to organise us otherwise we might be flitting about doing nothing all day.

Apart from the aerial thing which DS and i rally wanted to do and DD is not tall enough for, we've agreed that everything else must be all four of us or not at all. I know it limits us a little but we spend so little time as a family normally that I want to really make the most of this weekend. As it is, Dh isn't coming until the saturday morning because of a business trip Sad

We did the morning bird walk (can't remember its official title) and it was lovely.
Just all getting up that early and breathing in the fresh air - wonderful!
Apart from the pool and eating out all the other activities we did were for either the children or adults.
Though, have to say you must go to the spa sans enfants obviously. Don't feel guilty, you probably deserve it. I know I did Grin
