We live in London so not desperate to go to another city- but my SIL would like to go.....would whistable be nicer?
what can we do with the children if the weather is awful?

Can you recommend somewhere else by the sea approx 2 hrs form london?

Can you recommend self catering accomodation?

Thanks

We're going self-catering in Whitstable next week with DS1 (11m) so hoping it will be really nice! There is soft play, wildlife parks etc and the beach of course, so should be fine to keep DS1 occupied. We're renting through Whitstable Holiday Homes. Haven't used them before but they have been really helpful so far.

Sorry, but I grew up in Whitstable and can never understand why it appeals to people!! (having said that it's nicer now than it was in the 70s!!) Would def go to Brighton - the pier, nice playground with paddling pool on the beach, loads to do if it's raining.

thanks life- can you give me some suggestions of what to do if its raining in Brighton? Never been with the children. Thanks!

There isn't a a lot to do with toddlers in Whitstable.
IME.

There's a cinema near the seafront, the sealife place opposite the pier, pavillion of course (depending on the age of your DCs and whether all that old stuff would bore the pants of them!!). There is a little train that goes from near the aquarium but I've never been on it, not sure what time it runs.

we spend a lot of time in whitstable - so ask questions if you like!
