Cambridge - accomodation help

Totally stuck finding accomodation in Cambridge in July for BiL's wedding. Dcs aged 7 and 4 plus baby to accomodate. Also the grandparents. So we need a reasonably priced but decent hotel with a family room - the Doubletree Hilton is the only option with availability so far but I am not sure if we will have to sneak baby in, and also it is pricey for the gramps. Or a self catering flat, or 2 flats, but they all seem to have a week minimum stay. we need 2 nights. Preferably near Hills Road. Can anyone suggest anything at all? (Children have been specially requested by bride and groom - will try to renegotiate if can't find anything soon....)
Many thanks

Cambridge isn't a great place for hotels, unless you can pay for the likes of Hotel du Vin or the Doubletree. These hotels would be a little cheaper:
Gonville Hotel (not far from the town end of Hills Road).
Royal Cambridge - similarly not far from town end of Hills Road.
There's a Travelodge on Hills Road (Cambridge Leisure Park) - otherwise what about B&B?

Where's the wedding? If its in a college try the college itself or other colleges for accomodation. Some rent rooms out outside term which July would be.

We went to Cambridge last week and also struggled to find a hotel with family rooms. We ended up staying in a family room at the Crowne Plaza which was great for us as it is very central here. It also has parking which was very handy. We booked it online through Quidco so got an extra discount. We were pleased with the hotel for the price.

We also looked here. This place looked ok too here

What about a guest house - lots normally have a family room and also doubles/twins too.

There is a real lack of reasonably priced hotels in central cambridge. The other option is to stay on the outskirts, not great thought. We have stayed in hotels off the A14 (wrong area for you though) and eventually found a nice guest house in Chesterton - again wrong area sorry!
