We have the chance of a cheap holiday cottage in Morfa Nefyn in North Wales, have Googled and it seems to have a beach and a chippy but not much more info to be found.

Has anyone been?

Hi Serin, The LLeyn Peninsula is lovely. Lots of lovely beaches/castles/gardens to visit. Whistling sands/Porth Oer has sand that is only found in two places in the world and squeaks when you walk on it.(National Trust/pay car park/no dogs)Porth dinllaen beachyou can walk along the beach to the pub where Demi Moore filmed something..Criccieth castle & beach...Aberdaron beach...Aberaeron beach...you can see we like beaches!!! Also there is a quad biking & activity centre on the Lleyna good afternoon out if you like quads/gokarting/horseriding/archery. Also the Haven site at Pwllheli takes day visitors, about £12 Ithink for the day and you can use the excellent facilities there==great indoor pool with slides/lazy river/boating lake/ropeworks/crazy golf/karts. The Greenwood Centre at Bangor is a good day out--its a centre all about wood/forests but has animals/boats rides/slides etc. Excellent for younger and older children alike and you can take dogs in.
Have fun if you go--we go quite often to the Haven site and have a great time.

Thanks Onessa, I have been to the haven site at Pwlheli and had a great time too! My only concern is that nefyn seems to be a very very quiet village indeed! Wondered if anyone had actually ever been to it? or could advise what the beach was like?

Thinking about it we might be better just heading back to Haven!

It is a quiet village for sure. The beach is very nice, and if you walk westwards along it you get to an even smaller village/hamlet that has a lovely pub right on the beach itself. Walking even further along the bay you get to a tiny secluded beach where the lifeboat launches that is very pretty indeed.

It is very pleasant there, if you have the weather on your side.

Morfa Nefyn is lovely. Fabulous beach with pub the Ty Coch at the end reached only by foot or sea. Nice pub on the right going down to the beach. Easy to nip across to Abersoch and Llanbedrog on the opposite site.

The Ty Coch is a picturesque pub but it is really NOT child friendly. There is a big sign on the door saying no buggies. I didn't see it as the door was open but was quickly shouted at by the owner as I pushed DD in. Horrible man and his food was overpriced too.

Aberdaron near there is lovely - Whistling Sands beach.
