.....it's not til Easter 2012 but am trying to get organised!

I'm looking for somewhere to spend a long weekend with family/friends, was thinking of maybe a cluster of cottage-type accommodation so that we can all have our own space but are all next to each other. Has to have some child-friendly facilities such as play area, maybe a pool and a couple of nearby places to visit, especially if weather is rubbish. A pub within spitting distance would be good too! Most of us are based in Beds/Herts so prefer easy access from there.

Not asking for much but any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hello, you could try www.the-cleeve.co.uk. 5% discount for mumsnetters, but not too close to Herts/Beds I'm afraid. Lovely spot though.

I would second Clippesby and they are probably half full for Easter next year already!

Other than that Hoseasons have lots of quiet barn conversion developments Smile

I am jealous, I am still waiting for my 40th party and I will be 42 in march!

Coombe Mill in Cornwall? It's cottages and lodges, of completly different sizes and price ranges so you could be in different properties, but still next to each other. It's a farm, so lots for kids to do with the animals and play areas too.. and a pub just up the road in the village!

Clydey cottages in Pembrokeshire - pool, soft play, animals to feed, playground, outdoor hot tub - lots of lovely cottages and one big Farmhouse all to rent.

Darwin Forest in Matlock Derbys is lovely.

Thank you all, will look into all of these.
Serin, I've decided to just organise my own otherwise I too would have to wait forever!

Coombe Mill is good, but think they only book for whole weeks at a time, especially in the holidays. But worth a try, just in case!

We are planning to go to Bluestone in Pembrokeshire for my friends 40th next year - may be worth a look, its a fair way to travel but for you but motorway most of the way and would have all you need on site when you get there.
