Lake Windermere

I'm going to lake Windermere for a week at half term with my DH, two DDs, (4 and 20 months) parents and brother. I can't wait. I've never been and any recommendations would be very much appreciated...particularly ebtertainment for kids and shops for me!

Forgot Museum of beatrix potter, we loved it.

South lakes animal park at dalton in Furness is great, espec for young children. Think it's free for children at the moment, tho poss not during half term. Was free for everyone during winter which was great!
