What would you do, hire a house somewhere nice or go to a hotel that has activities etc. We're thinking house as it will be cheaper and allow more freedom of what happens when etc. But I also like the idea of a hotel so that there are activities without having to drive or walk in the cold winter.

Any thoughts welcome as are any suggestions of houses or places.

thanks!

For me it would be less about the activities and more about the catering. That would decide it for our family, whether people would be willing to plan, shop for and cook the meals.
How many of you are there?

smilesandsun · 11/09/2010 19:36

Yes, well I'll be doing all the planning and shopping etc and others will help if needed on the cleaning. So I think from that angle we can cope.

They'll be 10 of us.

We hired a house in Perthshire for fil's 60th - was very good fun.

Well if you're happy to do all that I would say to go for the house, it will be a bit more relaxed and flexible, especially if there are children going.

Have a great time, sounds lovely

Where about do you want to go?

fortyplus · 11/09/2010 22:56

We have stayed here: www.northmoorhouse.co.uk/

It's fab! But apparently usually booked for Christmas several years in advance

My goodness! We last stayed there in 1997 when it was about £1000 per week! But it has been refurbished and sleeps 24... and it is really fab! Grin
