Did Bedruthan last year, simply cannot afford it this year.

Boys are 3 and 4...

What is the walk down to the beach like?

Looking at a contemporary family suite... separate sleeping area for the kids, monitoring service (YAY!), loads for kids to do.... just need the weather to be nice!

Any experiences good or bad?

Thank you!

we are here now Mirrorball!! We came 5 years ago and liked it and this time I'm back with DS 9 and DD 5 but no DH (he's busy with work).

There are a few beaches here. Porth beach is about 10 mins walk with a cafe close by but no toilets (we've onl ever been on it whe the tide is out so great for rock pools etc. The nearest beach is across the road and down lots of steps but it's FAB! Called something beginning with a W. Caves, rock pools and lovely sea and sand. Nothing else there at all so not overly popular hence we love it! Walk down and back up again is not suitable for the infirm, elderly or pushchairs!
We went to a third beach yesterday, Lusty Cove I think it's called. A 5/10 minute drive, again lots of steps but when you get down, there are toilets, changing rooms, cafe, coffee/ice cream hut and lots going on. Some very expensive activities (£25 for a go on the zip wire!) but it menas there is lots to watch. It was quite windy yesterday (weather not great this week) but you can borrow a wind breaker from Sands reception (and most other surf/beach stuff that you might need, they have a shack full of it).

Your boys would be in the Adventurers club (I think). DD has loved it. 8.45 until 11 am and then again from 11.30-12.30 and again in the evening at 7.15 but your boys might be too yo0ung for that (DD has done it once, she was shattered afterwards!). The staff are lovely. Lots to do out side, wooden climbing area, zip wire, maze, golf, sand pit etc.

Food is good just lunchtimes a bit naff re choice and cost. We're now buying sandwiches from local supermarkets instead and storing them in fridge.

Indoor pool nice and warm so little ones should like it, toddler pool as well as big pool.

Dont know about family suites - sorry

We've been to Sands twice in the past when my DCs were a bit younger, and absolutely LOVED it there!

The beach over the road from Sands is called Whipsiderry and is stunning, but a very steep climb down, with no facilities on the beach. Porth beach does have toilets, which are right next door to the lovely 'Cafe Coast' (where we had the best and biggest doorstep bacon sandwiches ever!).

Of course, there is also the fantastic beach at Watergate Bay; we came back from there yesterday and it was very busy in the body-boarding and surfing areas (despite the weather being mixed all week).

You will love Sands, IMHO.

I am off there at the weekend - I am sure it will be great - we have booked a contemporary suite. When are you thinking of going?
