i havnt booked a holiday cos i had no idea when my training for new job would start.

turns out we all have a week off in august - and training doesnt start until sept. means we could get away for a week! yay!

but now for the hard part.

got to find a self catering cottage or similar that sleeps 4 that will take pets - 2 small dogs.

im googling but just in case ive missed anything does anyone have any tips!

cheers!

I have just spent the last 4 days doing the same! Is there specific part of UK you want to visit? (be handy to know before I bombard you with irrelevant sites!)

tulpe · 04/08/2010 00:01

This one is a good place to start

I always book last min in uk for August - try the tourist information websites for towns/cities you want to visit and use the accommodation option to find last min deals or ring.I think they sometimes have a list of vacancies.
Good luck.

this place has cottage for 4 - The Granary - and room for 2 dogs available 20 & 27 August

cheers tulpe - some links there i had not found the sites for!

im still in a bit of a quandry as son (who has special needs) gets back from scotland slap bang in the middle of the week we want to go - it would mean leaving him alone (he is nearly 19 but i have visions of the house burning down....)

he is begging to be left but im not so sure.

Thought about hiring a camper van for a few nights later this week, just me and DP - all kids otherwise occupied for the first time in can't remember - but the cost if ridiculous, £400 - £600 for 2 or 3 nights. Would really like to buy a second hand van one of these days, just to be able to take off whenever we wanted for a night of couply togetherness!! Bliss .....
