Flying London to Scotland with no photo ID?

BA says it's not needed but I just have this terrible doubt and visions of getting to the airport and being turned away.
Any experience out there?

I have always been asked for photo ID (well, in the last few years anyway) when taking domestic flights, though it's always been with cheapy airlines. Sorry!

I couldn't find out definitively.
We are getting the train.
Must renew passport.

I wondered about children travelling with parents. DH and I have current passports but DD1s has expired and DD2 never had one. Was looking at flying Glasgow to London with anyone and thought Mumsnetters might know?

I have travelled with various airlines in UK over recent years and have always needed photo ID. BUT have never done it with the childen so don't know. Can't you call the airline?

I'm flying with the dcs to Newquay later on in the summer. DS2 has no passport as yet, and having checked on the airline website it seems to say no photo id required for children.

I'll be taking the older children's passports, and might take ds2s birth cert, just in case/

You don't need it with BA if you check in online, or at a kiosk at the airport. All other airlines seem to require it though.

It's not at check-in I've needed the id tho, YourCall, it's at boarding. But haven't done BA internally for a while.

lilolil was just thinking about it so didn't have one airline in mind as flexible on dates and airports could do Glasgow, Edinburgh or Prestwick.

I don't see that they'd think it possible a tiny baby for instance would have had time to get a passport.

Pooka what airline is that?

Thanks
