Tutor for Latymer grammar - who and when?

My son is currently in year 4. I’m thinking I’ll look for a tutor to work with him through year 5 - is that the right sort of time frame? Latymer Granmar will be our no 1 target so any recommendations for tutors with experience of Latymer would be much appreciated!

Hiya,
I can recommend Infinity Tuition- their website says it's Harrogate based, but they have online tutors so it doesn't matter where you're based. I've used a really great 11+ tutor from them as they've got a super high success rate with the Leeds grammar schools :) I'm sure they'd have something for a younger child!

Yes, Year 5 is a great time to start — it gives plenty of space to build up skills and confidence gradually, especially for something as competitive as Latymer. I’m a tutor myself and have worked with quite a few students aiming for Latymer over the years.
You can either go through a tutoring company (Keystone Tutors, Bonas MacFarlane, and Enjoy Education are all very reputable), or find someone directly — sites like Superprof and Tutorful list independent tutors. The benefit of going through a company is that tutors are usually interviewed and carefully selected (often Oxbridge grads or with strong academic backgrounds), so there’s an added layer of vetting. That said, tutoring companies tend to charge significantly more — often adding around 40% on top of what the tutor actually earns.
Happy to share any thoughts or advice if that’s helpful — feel free to PM me if you’d like to chat more about what to expect or how to approach prep.

Always happy to recommend our amazing tutor. Feel free to DM me 😊 I know she’s super experienced with a wide range of London schools at 7+ and 11+!

I can share details of a fabulous tutor - she got our daughter in to City (but preps for lots of schools, both 7+ and 11+) and we adore her.

DM me if you'd like.
