Local FB groups.

Tbh I wouldn't go with a A level student to tutor for GCSEs but good luck

There are a lot of students up offering tutoring. Facebook is full of adverts. Parents will opt for students as they tend to be cheaper than qualified teachers/examiners but will still have the same expectations.

Consistency is key, I sometimes ‘pick-up’ tutees as their former tutor lets them down every few weeks or so due to sports/trips/ uni visits/ jobs/own revision/ fam holidays or whatever events. Swopping days also annoys clients or saying there is another person to take the lesson (which some group tutors/agencies do)

My Y11 son is tutored by a Y13 a level student. I was desperate as I needed someone in person rather than virtual, and everyone 'qualified' was full.

It has been amazing. I think having a role model that he can open up with and ask questions compared to the typical teacher-pupil relationship has been invaluable. My son is shy and when he had a tutor in the past, he just seemed petrified.

We found him advertising on the local town Facebook page. Someone had posted asking for a tutor, and he put his name there. He's full now I think too!
