I offer both and they are both highly effective.
It depends on the needs and attitude of the student and the skills of the tutor as to which is the best choice.
Many parents believe that face to face must be far superior and better value for money, until they try online and are pleasantly surprised by what can be done and by how convenient it is! Some of these parents have never actually seen online tuition in action and some have had poor experiences in the past, either with an unskilled tutor or poor lockdown provision from their school. Most who make the effort to try it admit that it works and works well. It does take effort and a little learning though.
To be a good online tutor, you need to be comfortable with technology and well organised. Most tutors who are successful face to face, also have the capacity to become just as successful online but it does take effort.
For students to learn successfully online, there are a number of contributing factors. They need to have access to properly working technology and also a quiet space in which to learn so that they can get the most out of their lessons. This often does require parents to make some effort in terms of ensuring their child is equipped for the lesson and has been shown how to use the technology.
For any tuition to work, the student needs to want to learn and be willing to take part in the tuition session. If they do not want to learn, this can become amplified when learning online more so than if learning face to face.
