You could ask on a local Facebook group, there may be others in your area who can recommend someone.

Frostytiger87 · 10/10/2021 10:22

Thankyou , I’ve tried Facebook & tend to get loads of replies from people that don’t have the right qualifications

Look on some tutoring websites.
The sites verify the tutors' qualifications, DBS certificate, ID etc.
Good sites are First Tutors, Tutor Extra and the Tutor website.
I have chosen these sites because there is no ongoing commission for lessons.

Aw Thankyou so much catndoglife that’s really helpful , I’m in a panic as I’ve left it late
Have you used any of these agencies ?

catndogslife · 10/10/2021 17:21

Yes. They set out clearly the tutors qualifications and experience which gives parents confidence.

Trampoline11 · 10/10/2021 17:24

Are you expecting face to face and can I ask what subjects?

Frostytiger87 · 10/10/2021 17:36

I use tutorhunt. You can search for tutors near you and filter so you only get qualified teachers. You can also check their feedback. I would trust that more than a recommendation on here which could be a self- recommendation for all you know.

Frostytiger87 · 10/10/2021 19:10

Thankyou thruthe

I used to advertise on personal tutors.
It's a tough one. It's October. I'm usually fully booked in July ready go start in September.

languagelover96 · 11/10/2021 10:57

Try firsttutors. Alternatively you could use tutorhunt or Facebook in order to find a tutor.

Trampoline11 · 11/10/2021 11:12

We had a total meltdown last April as DD didn't get on with home learning at all. We used these and they were absolutely brilliant: www.tayberry.org.uk

Hi @Frostytiger87
This tutor is really good - she helped my kids when they were struggling at school. Fully qualified English teacher and has worked at the best independent schools in London. Her email is [email protected]
This is the website www.englishtutorial.co.uk/
Hopefully she can help you.

Frostytiger87 · 12/10/2021 10:58

Should tutors provide references ?

catndogslife · 31/10/2021 17:12

@Trixiebell06

Should tutors provide references ?
The websites recommended require tutors to supply references upon registration.
