information to sink in - maths

we are doing papers and now identified some mistakes - coordinates, calculations. my DS says, I know the topic, but still does simple mistakes. Would it be better to do some writing, drawing coordinates from scratch rather than answering questions? I mean some active way of learning (drawing coordinates) etc to sink information in? I just feel answering questions is not always makes information to sink in? What is the best when consolidating information / to make sure it sinks in? thank you

Hello

From my professional experience as a Maths & Science tutor, most children who make silly mistakes have gaps in their understanding of foundation topics. Specifically talking about Maths, such children do not completely understand why a certain step needs to be done while solving a problem.

I suggest addressing such understanding gaps first by revising the very basic concepts and also solving the questions from scratch. Hope that helps!
