my ds(5) is quite behind with maths and reading at school. he is just at the end of year one.

would it be worth getting him some private tutoring? or shall i let him go at his own pace. what would the school make of it?

This is why we need a better zombie alett warning system. I cery much doubt jools is still reading the thread given that it hasn't been active for EIGHT YEARS.

Wow, apologies for the typos there.

Oh God! I didn't notice! How do people keep resurrecting these old things? A year or two, fair enough, could still be relevant, but not EIGHT - as you say.

A warning at the START of a thread, rather than at the end, would be better, but possibly more difficult for 'Tech' staff!?

How old is he? My step daughter is going to be five next month and we are not tutoring her yet. She does read to me at night time and she does some simple number work during the day. Recently we were counting out pumpkins and bats for a Halloween party as well as pricing sweets. I also subtly look at opportunities to weave in spelling and writing skills too.
