Please help me choose a sandpit. Ta.

Is ther any reason why I should spend £35 on a posh plastic one, and not get a £15 one from Argos?

Have decded against wood, as it will have to sit on paving and I understand they have a soft bottom. It will be moved, put away and generally abused so I don't think a wooden one would take the treatment.

Also, how much sand does it take to fill them, and are there any sandy bargains out there?

The only toy shop with things like this, within 50 miles, is Argos. So I wondered if anyone had ssen any bargains in the big supermarkets or mothercare or anywhere?

TIA x

My Dad just basically hammered four boards together and put a bottom on it. I would recommend finding a permanent place for it because all the moving around will start grating on you because the sand will be heavier than you think. The sand is also a special sand and I wouldn't know where you could get it there.

Gawd I still haven't got one.

The argos in town is in a truly hard to get to shopping centre thing. No way I can carry the beastie back to the car with a pushchair.

Now why didn't I just get it online on Sat? It would be delivered now!!

I was thinking perhaps a sprinkler... that's what we'll be using this summer. I don't want any flat spots on the new grass. lol

hi, you may have already got one by now, but I recommend one with a lid- they make great cat litter trays if you don't have one! Also if you want your child to play with water as well the standing ones are quite good- have friend with one.Argos is a cheap option. They sell the sand as well. Also can get it from homebase.

We have the seashell one. The lid doubles up as waterplay/small paddling pool. It's lasted a number of years now and was cheap. I think we did get it from Argos.
