Bubbles and his bike.

Bikes are expensive though I'd go for the bubbles a sure fire hit.

we don't have this one, but similar, we only fill it with water, we don't do sand!

They play with it for hours! they are 5,3 and 1

i agree with the sand and water table, we only fill with water too and my 3 yr old and 8 yr old both love it with lots of bubbles, they play boats in it, splash it and clean all their toy cars in it

My 14 and 9 year olds were playing with this in the garden yesterday. Ds got it for his 4th birthday - so 5 years ago now, it comes out every summer and it's absolutely fab!

Yeah, that sand and water table is brilliant. We put water and sand in it (I try to get DS to keep water to one side, sand to the other, but that doesn't last long!)

The other thing that DS loves to do in the garden is have a bucket with some water and sponge and clean his cars and the side of the house.

He also loves his set of garden tools.

And balls of course! Any shape or size. We got this basketball set that is very popular.

Trampoline (it's the TP folding one we bought when we lived in a flat, so it's perfect winter and summer, indoors and out, and can be put away for a while so it becomes new all over again)

Metal wheelbarrow (plastic just doesn't survive). We had a brilliant Brio one, a hand-me-down, but when it finally wore out after goodness knows how many years of abuse, decided it was too expensive to replace with another Brio, so got the Yeomans one. Also excellent, tho I don't think it will last as many years as the Brio did.

Gardening tools - these can be plastic if you don't want him to do actual harm to the plants! He also loves 'helping' me, and is convinced that my trowel and hand fork are child-size spade and fork.

Bubbles, pavement chalks, balls and plant misters all also very well-used here.
