Wii games

Any advice from parents with older children to a Luddite mother - My 12yr old son is asking for Call of Duty and Tomb Raider games for the Wii - I really do not want realistic killing games in the house (partly on his account, also on 10 and 8yr old DDs) and Lara Croft does not appear to be a welcome character/role model. At the moment we just have Mario Kart and Wii sport, and Zelda which I can tolerate. I have said no to Call of Duty and am wondering if I am being unreasonable vetoing Tomb Raider. I cannot be alone with this dilemma. Are there any fun suitable games I can steer him to (and possibly even allow him to retain some credibility with his mates)?

My 13yo ds recommends Super Mario Brothers, wii Play and wii Sports Resort which has jetskiing. He also loves Okami which combines anime and a fantasy adventure.

He says that Tomb Raider is 'nowhere near as violent as Call of Duty' which he has seen at his father's house (!). I'm with you however. 1st person shooters are not allowed in this house.

We found the wii balance board to be quite addictive also btw. Very cool when used with snowboarding games. Hth

Thank you Blinder - I like the "no 1st person shooter rule" I was horrified by Call of Duty (which he bought with his pocket money and I immediately withdrew. I like the soudn to the balance board - he fancies himself as a snow/surf boarder
