Best outdoor toys

I'm getting ahead of myself here as obviously we don't have the weather for it yet but I was just wondering what is the best outdoor toy you have bought? I don't have a lot of storage space but am looking for toys/games that can entertain my little ones.

horses and ponies

ooh would love a shetland pony! Don't put ideas in my head! Hee hee! As I have a garden the size of a postage stamp I think I will stick to something simple like a swing! x x

Last summer DS (who was 1 in September) loved his paddling pool, especially when it was filled with balls, and his little slide. He has a Tomy one which folds up - still quite big though.

We thought about getting a swing, but decided agaist it, because there is a little playground nearby which is somewhere to go. We thought having a swing would spoil that.

Footballs, footballs and more footballs. I have 3 kids and they are the only toy that they will never grow bored of, however old they are. We buy Fairtrade FSC rubber ones from cos we try to be a bit eco friendly.

Me too..

I am hoping to get a 'sandpit' for mine. I am unsure whether to go for one of those Sand and Water tables or traditional sandpits in which children can sit in?

OhFuck · 27/02/2010 22:26

Inflatable paddling poor, small tarpaulin, sand = collapsible sandpit which can be climbed into and moved around easily.

OhFuck · 27/02/2010 22:27

Paddling pool, that should read. Not blow-up poverty-stricken people.

PigeonPie · 27/02/2010 22:49

A set of DIY store paint brushes, two pots / small buckets (one for each child) and some water.

Always have a separate sandpit / paddling pool.

The sand gets full of water and the water gets full of sand.

fisher price bubble mower. hours of fun, and no batteries.
