hama/aqua beads

I've bought my nephew those bendaroo thingies for his birthday. My SIL is asking what she can get my 5 year old DD that is similar for her birthday (also coming up).
I've heard others talk about hama and/or aqua beads and they sound like the sort of thing she'd enjoy.
I've never actually seen any though. How do they work? Are one better than the other?
Thankyou.

My DD just 5 and we got her aqua beads and she loves them. I think they are better than hama because they can glue them together themselves, whereas you need to iron hama beads (and try not to drop their precious creations on the way to the ironing board and spend all night recreating them...)

Oh I didn't realise there was ironing involved.
Aqua sounds much better in that way then.

LLAJ - yep, me too. Recreated Snow White more times than I care to think about.

Not any more though- aqua beads a god send. Also known as Bindeez, and you can mix and match the two. Still find the hoover full of the bloody things though.

I'll look bindeez up too then, great
DD's a little perfectionist about these things too, has been known to get cross with me for not drawing her a reindeer properly after she wasn't happy with her own attempt. So yes, could do without spilling a work of art on the way to the iron.
