Tonie Yoto is there a better priced alternative?

Is there a cheaper version of Tonie or Yoto?
Great ideas, but very expensive for what they are I think.

We have the Yoto and personally think it’s very well priced, for the service they offer etc. When we’ve had an issue they’ve replaced it, and there’s so many new features- they have a dev space and people develop different things for it that enhances their usability. I also like ther you can make your own cards (have heard that you can buy cheaper cards that can be compatible) and we have made all sorts for the kids, from foreign language things, grandparents reading stories etc. Sorry, I can’t help with a cheaper priced alternative but I’d highly
recommend the Yoto!

I agree with PP, we have a tonie box and I think it’s very reasonable. I don’t know of a cheaper alternative but plenty of people sell them second hand on Facebook or vinted, so maybe that’d be a better option so you will have access to the tomies/ cards your child may want?

Agree with PP.

We bought one of the first-generation Yoto players for our son, and about two years later the charging dock stopped working. They replaced it with a brand-new one, which I thought was absolutely incredible service.

I’ve seen some on Vinted, so that might be an option.

We’ve found it brilliant. Personally, I wouldn’t choose a Tonie as the plastic figures would feel a bit cluttery for us, but that’s just personal preference (I’m fairly minimalist!).

Oh I also wanted to add that we make our own cards too.

I bought some videos on dailymotion, and extracted the sound and popped them on a card.

Also some people say that you can sign up to your local library, and borrow audio books for free and put them on Yoto (although not sure of the copyright rules on that !)

Have a look at Voxblock. I don’t have any of these but that’s the player I would go for I think.
