Dolls - international. Collection - what to do?

Hello

Could someone help me out with a box of dolls that I don’t know what to do with.

My dad used to travel a lot in the 80s and he always bought me a doll in international dress from wherever he had been.

They are mostly in their boxes and were only ever for display, not for play.

I don’t want to display them, but am wondering whether to allow my daughter to play with them (she is 2 and they won’t be pristine for long) or whether to sell them? Would there be any market for this sort of thing?

Have a look on eBay and see if there any similar for sale (that are actually selling!).

I would be concerned that they weren't safe for a 2 year old to play with.

TBH, I'd offer them on something like Freecycle if I didn't want them.

If they are the mass produced plastic ones they'll have very little value (even mint in boxes). My collection spanned the 60s and 70s and I sold my rare ones (silk outfits on detailed porcelain dolls) but the bog standard ones went to a charity shop and they got £2 each for them!

Thanks. They seem to go for £10 on eBay. I may have a go with one and see how it does.

i have all these Peter Fagan teddy bears that I used to collect. Such a shame but I can’t think what to do with them! Do people still collect these things?
