Not a trampoline!

DS turning 3. Currently a ball of energy who likes rough and tumble, v energetic, loves the outdoors.
The present that would probably suit him best would be a trampoline but having researched we don't want to risk injuries, both anxious parents so we'd rather wait until the recommended 6YO if we do go down that route.

Any suggestions for an alternative garden present to exert physical energy? We have the standard: slide, bike, scooter, mud kitchen, digger but we'd like something that uses more physical energy? We spend all day from March - October in the garden pretty much so it will get its use.

Thanks in advance

What about digging a trampoline pit instead of having a free standing one?

I know it's still a trampoline so not what you asked for, but there's not really anything except trampolines left from that list!

Most of the trampoline injuries I see are from children falling off trampolines because the net cage isn't secure. The trampoline pits avoid that at least

Climbing frame or scooter?

we held off until 6 for a trampoline (I work in a hospital and was helping in A&E for a bit - non clinical - and learned fast that trampolines need to be used sensibly).

Didn't think of that we could maybe do that!

Maybe I am looking good for a unicorn. I keep reading about broken bones and I don't think mine or DPs nerves could take it!

I'll look into that thanks for the suggestion!

Swingball maybe.

If you get a trampoline specifically for 3 year olds the springs are much shorter and this makes them safer (less ability to get a high bounce) especially when used correctly (with enclosure, one at a time only). Most of the accidents with trampolines happen when 2 people are using them because one person is heavier and the lighter person can’t control themselves. (I used to work for a trampoline supplier!). They’re also very low off the ground if specifically for that age.

If not what about a swing? My nephew loves his, would spend hours on it if someone would keep pushing him!
