How did you get your child into Yoto?

If they were on the slightly younger side in particular? I had such high hopes for Yoto, my son loves reading, and being read stories plus any with songs were a huge bonus. He's 2 and a half, so I appreciate slightly under the recommended age but has pretty much worked out how to use it with ease although seems to be struggling without anything visual.

I'm not sure how best to encourage him apart from sitting, talking, singing along with him. I purposely bought it for the car as we have a long drive in a weeks time I want to avoid the usual meltdowns.

Please share your tips so I haven't just poured a load of money down the drain 😵‍💫

@Takemeawayy thank you that's a good suggestion as i have been hesitant about bedtimes. At the moment me and his dad read a story on our bed and then he goes to his own, its my favourite time of day for us all to have a cuddle and a bit of calm before bed so I didn't want yoto to take away from that. However, as you point out its nice to have the option as he ages to 'hand over' to yoto after we've done a story so we're not up for hours!

Mornings are a completely different story... at 4am im completely replaceable 😂

Just wanted to say that this doesn't work for all children - DD actually asked me to stop putting stories on at bedtime, as in her words 'it makes me feel like daytime, not sleepy time'! But as I say, the 'sleep radio'.function has worked well 😊

@BarbaraVineFan thank you for the alternate perspective, I've not tried it at bedtimes yet as I'm reasonably happy with our overall routine. I would be keen to keep actually reading a thing for as long as possible though as I think books naturally calm you down and I'm not sure an audio book would do the same. - I'm open to being proved wrong though.

My son got it for his 2nd birthday. He wasn’t interested for the first 4 months but now loves it (just over 2.5). We have some some stories with the same characters as books he has (spot and mog) and some songs. He loves one called happy songs and always asks for that.
we started listening to it together during breakfast and sometimes at the start of nap time.
we haven’t tried in the car.

I don’t use it at night for same reason. On the odd day he wakes up earlier than normal, I put it on as a way of keeping him in bed longer but not sure how into it he is at that time.
