PLEASE HELP - Is a toy keychain with different changeable clothings for different occasions a good gift to kids?

Hi I'm trying to find a gift for my niece/nephew with ages 9-12 and I was wondering if a gift such as a dog keychain with different changeable clothing for occasions like christmas/halloween is a good gift and if it's appealing for kids that age.
And if there are any products that match my description above?
And do you think this type of gift is too complicated for kids - will their parents allow it?
And if the keychain should not be a animal but a person or something and if it should be in a brighter color like pink or a neutral color like white.

An example of how i'm thinking the gift will look like:

Kids do like keyrings to put on their school bookbags/backpacks - especially if they have a school branded one because then it's easy to know which is their bag among the 30 identical ones in the classroom.
I'm not sure about the changeable bits - those bits are likely to get lost.

Also there are literally a gazillion keyrings that would appeal to children and they are sold everywhere from newsagents to toy shops to bookshops to clothes shops. I'm sure you would find some easily. My daughter likes ones sold in Claires Accessories and Primark.

7-10 maybe, mine had a whole collection of keyrings on her book bag which she took off pretty much as she turned 11. Outfits wouldn't have appealed

No it's a bit dull

11 and 12 yo are at secondary so unlikely to want to use the keychain on their school bag even if they secretly liked cuddly toys.

Build a bear do a roaring trade in cuddly toys and clothes for them but cater to an under 10 audience really. My daughter would have enjoyed the clothes changing but my sons never cared about changing their cuddly toys clothes.

Agree with a pp about clothes getting lost. I suspect that the clothes aren't going to be miles cheaper than buying a different keychain with a dog wearing fixed clothes.

If this a business you are thinking of setting up I would go back to the drawing board

Yes like @Highlyflavouredgravy says if this is a sneaky market research thing I suggest you go to your nearest shopping centre and have a mooch around the shops - you will see that cute keyrings are (as I said) literally sold everywhere.
The market is full.
