Can someone please explain to me the big fascination with these LOL dolls. My DD is 4 and not yet into this phase. But I just don't see the big deal with them.

I think it’s the surprise element, plus all the different ways of unpacking the bits and pieces.

I've guided my kid into the chess world, he's just 7 y.o. and now we together watch some pro chess recups such as www.chess.com/blog/Morshynska/observation-and-improvement

My DD is 6. While she loves lol dolls so far she's only ever bought the small surprise ones. She sees the adverts on tv and gave me a lot of hassle at Xmas over the camper van but I just refused to buy it and told her it was a rip off. She's lost loads of the bits and pieces from the little ones anyway.

Just recently the DGPs gave them money for a toy for an Easter treat. DD chose an lol doll and DS Who I is 5 chose a Hot Wheels play set. Both obviously plastic tat but both DC are starting to learn about the value of money and when you put the two items together you could clearly see which one was better value for money and DD wished she'd chosen the hot wheels too!

In my local toy shop the lol doll was 12€. Hot Wheels play set was 10!
