I have researched this online but the Ikea track referred to has plastic joints and ours are entirely wooden.
Any advice appreciated x

Lidl do amazing wooden train track in the run up to Christmas. It looks like it would be brio compatible.

We have Lidl, Brio, Wilko and IKEA. All fit in one another but IKEA usually needs a bit of a bash.

Lidl is far superior to the rest purely because of choice of range for price. They usually bring out sets this season ahead of christmas.

It is, IME, more or less, but it needs a bit of bodging - more than a young child could do on their own. Older children could make it fit, or an adult building a big layout for a child to play on.

I have brio and Tesco and find they work great together

Great thanks everyone. I'm planning to pick up extra bits from whatever brand to go with existing Ikea set and brio seems easy to get hold of. I will look out for some Lidl sets for sure. X

Big jigs also fits with it!

Big jigs is fantastic

WRT bridges: children found it very difficult to build these, so we superglued the two halves together - took up more storage space but less frustrating all round.
