Hi guys, honest opinions please. Imagine your little one has drawn a picture you think is really special, of a person, animal, robot, etc. Might you be interested in having this turned into a unique, bespoke toy that they can play with, or for example you can give as a gift to grandparents? It would be 4-5 inches in height, hard material (such as plastic or rubber - think of a superhero action figure) and be as true as possible to the original drawing. Obviously would be made of child safe materials and durable. Price around £30-£40. Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance.

I think it’s a cute idea, though I’m not sure if mine’s drawings are good enough haha! Didn’t IKEA do something similar though...?

No

NellMangel · 03/03/2018 19:14

No, I can't imagine being so blown away by a picture I would do this. I would at most get a card made of the picture.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 03/03/2018 19:18

Truthfully no - the price seems excessive for something he would have totally forgotten about by the time the toy arrived.

Also he is a little bugger and the toy would not be "right" - either not big enough, or not a real dinosaur, or in some way not meet his expectations.

Digestive28 · 03/03/2018 19:19

No. Essentially because although the drawings are lo lovely for me they aren’t that good so the toy in reality would be too far removed from what they intended to draw

SavoyCabbage · 03/03/2018 19:20

No.

I’d rather just have the picture.

And I wouldn’t want dc thinking they could draw something and then it could become real!

SparkleFizz · 03/03/2018 20:52

No.

Furthest I would go would be to have the drawing printed onto another 2D surface. Cards, mugs, t-shirts etc.
