Wooden train sets- where to start?

I have a basic wooden track and a number of trains, but want to expand so there's more for my 3 yo to work with. There is too much out there I don't know where to start- Bridges, tunnel, just extra plain tracks? What's your little one enjoyed most? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm just overwhelmed by all the options in trains.

John Lewis £30 track, think it's called a 50 piece set. We bought it for our son and he's played with it every day since, it's fab, a bridge, a crossing, a tunnel and a train garage plus animsls, signs, trees, trains and wagons and it fits with brio track and they do extender pieces. Would definitely recommend it Smile

Doh - just seen you already have some track [must learn to read properly Confused ]but it might be good as an extender to yours as it has a bit of everything.

My son loves tunnels and bridges. A turntable is also fun. To be honest there is sooo much you can get. Add little bits here and there at birthdays and Christmas and soon you will be creating epic tracks. Check out Bigjigs as well as Brio and John Lewis. And IKEA does a pack of compatible track.

Station turntable, bridges, tunnels and trains. We've picked up lots of track second hand once he really started playing with it and bought the big things new as part of his Christmas gifts.

Pick up bits of track here and there (Tesco used to sell it and we got small packs while we were doing the shopping), then more exciting stuff like engines and tunnels for birthdays etc.
Ebay is great for pricier exciting stuff.
