My little girl will be 18months at Christmas and as she is obsessed with dolls we thought this would be the ideal main present! But which one to go for? I like the look of baby annable, does everything but wee... Don't think I would cope if it did lol! But is that a bit grown up yet? We want to get a set so pram, cot, clothes for dressing up!
Can anyone recommend any brands?

Bought my DD an Annabel at 3 as she was really into dolls at that age and less likely to hurl it down the stairs. They are very expensive and the batteries don't last long and even when you do replace them some of the functions (eg sucking of bottle, closing eyes) deteriorate over time. Never ever got mine to cry tears though fed it loads of water (goodness knows where it is inside?".

DD still loves this doll but we don't use batteries any more (the crying noise gets a bit wearing after a while!). 3 years later it is still her favourite doll.

I think perhaps 18 months is a bit young though as it will be a fabulous present when she's older and can really appreciate it.

They do a "my first baby Anabelle" which is a little smaller than the crying one, it doesn't have the batteries it is just a baby. My daughter was given one for her second birthday and loved it. She was not aware that you can get crying ones and just wanted a baby for her pushchair. It has been very well loved and our only baby doll, she is 5 now.

My 18 month old loves Baby Stella. She is soft and the perfect size for a toddler. You can buy various accessories too. Lovely for cuddling and 'tending to'.
