1st birthday - too young for activity centre?

Hi

It's my second son's 1st birthday in October and i was wondering if anyone out there had a sit in activity centre for their child who is around the same age?

He's 9 months and standing up whilst holding onto furniture - he's soooo active and into EVERYTHING. I find it hard to keep him occupied at all and was wondering if we should get him one of those sit in activity centres for his 1st birthday but i'm worried he might already be too old for one and won't get much use out of it...

What do you think?

Too old I'd say. Once they're mobile they lose interest and sounds like he'll be walking by then.

Mine is 7 and a bit months, and I suspect will be too 'old' for one of them by the time she is one - she enjoys the walker we borrowed at the moment but I can't see her in it in 4 months time at this rate.

Can you try one somewhere with him nearer the time? One of the baby friendly cafe's in our area has a jumperoo which is fun, but I am glad I didn't spend £80 on it (I just go for coffee and she gets a go in it and exposed to lots of lovely germs to boost her immune system Wink )

If he's already cruising I don't think he will want to be sat in something like that. He will get more out of a ride-on or push-along thing I would think.

Too old I would say - you probably wouldn't get a lot of use out of it.

I'd say he'd be too old. Our DS turned 1 recently and we got him a Wheely Bug which he loves. Idea is that once they're walking they can sit on it and ride away. He's just starting to walk so he pushes it around. Keeps him entertained for hours!

Wheelybug = brilliant though mine was 2 when we got ours. I bought dd a Pintoy toddle truck with bricks, which was perfect for her first birthday.
