jumperoo?

my 15 week old ds has been going through periods during the day where he only seems happy if we walk him round - some friends have sworn a jumperoo is the answer but I have reservations - mainly the cost and also the size of the thing! We have plenty of space but to put it bluntly is pretty hideous to look at?! Also we have a baby bjorn bouncer where they didn't so they moved onto jumperoo after outgrowing bouncer which isn't an issue for us- is ds going to get anything more out of a jumperoo than his baby bjorn(that he loves)? I justified cost of baby bjorn in that would last ages so reluctant to buy another expensive thing.

You can get one on eBay for £40 or see if anyone's selling one locally that he could have a test drive in. My twin niece and nephew loved theirs.

I would prefere to sell my left kidney than our jumperoo. It is fab and so useful as a safe place to leave ds. My ds is 6 months old and also has the same bouncer but in the last couple of weeks has really out grown it

It depends on the DC. DD1 loved it and it was like a babysitter for us. DD2 hated it she felt trapped and needed the freedom to move around (even when she couldn't crawl) but both times we got them second hand for about £40 and they have good resale value too

So vote seems to be that I need a jumperoo if not just yet!! We're going to have a go at our friends definitely before buying and would probably get one second hand as could never bring myself to spend £100 on it!! That's interesting florin as my 11 month old niece still uses bouncer so thought (hoped!) it had more life in it than that.

DD loves hers (well we have borrowed it from SIL). She was over 5 months before she fitted in it though. She still adores it now at 10mo, and it is hilarious watching her go nuts in it.

My son is massive, he has just turn 6 months and is in 12-18 months or 18-24 months clothes. I think the bouncer is meant to last them until they are 2 however the heavier they are the flatter it goes because of their weight which annoys my son and he doesn't look comfy in it, I will miss it as he goes in it every morning while I shower.
My son was in the Jumperoo from 3 months and loves it and all his friends who come round love it too. We tried to get one 2nd hand but in our area they were going for such a lot on eBay and we found a sale on the I love zoo one in mothercare which was only abou £10 more than a second hand one!

They are amazing and worth every penny I've had 2 second hand (one for each DC) both were able to be resold for a good price after use.

Jumperoo's are amaaaazing!!!! My DD has always been quite hard to please, easily bored and needing a lot of attention. I was not going to get a jumperoo due to cost, size and hideousness, but didnt realise my sister had one in the loft.... At Christmas she got it down for us to try, and I've never seen anything like it- DD will madly bounce for ages, interspersed with the odd rest and spin of the toys, and more bouncing, and lots of smiles too. I would definitely recommend it! As would DD who is smiling up from the jumperoo while going bonkers at the moment!!!! :o

I miss the days of being able to keep ds happy in his jumperoo! Vital bit of kit I'd say...now the little bugger gets into everything

Haven't made it to my friends to test drive it yet but everyone I speak to tells me I need one - annoyingly I found one on gumtree literally around the corner from us for £40 but they pulled out just before I was supposed to collect it :( On the hunt again now

I got mine flown over from the UK specially as they cost too much to buy new here. Got it for £35 second hand. It was worth it. She wasn't able to sit up independently at the time but she was annoyed with lying on her back. Watching her sheer excitement was wonderful.

Over time she still enjoys being put in there first thing in the morning so you have time to get the kettle on and warm up a bottle but she grows bored quickly unless you watch and talk to her while she uses it. Then she bounces like a lunatic. I'm not putting it away until she physically outgrows it!

Talking of which, she's on the highest setting now. She's 10 months old and was a premie, so she's still quite small but she can touch the floor with the tips of her toes. I'm worried if she can actually stand up in it then when she bounces she'll hurt her feet.

Jumperoo is great but once can crawl will lose interest.

Definitely borrow one. Don't spend £80 odd on it. Needs lots of storage room as well
