Have realised lots of our toys are now too young for DD, and need to do a charity shop clearout. Ideas for replacements gratefully received!

I'm particularly interested in toys that will help her play independently and don't need a lot of room. Is she too young for Playmobil?

Wooden train sets are great, especially if she enjoys choosing which bridges and tunnels to use. They last years.

My DC love Megabloks and Sticklebricks too.

Play kitchen/food, role play toys like doctor's case etc, duplo, dress up stuff, orchard toy games, wooden farm & animals?

A bit young for regular playmobil I would say, but they do a younger range.

DD (2.1) enjoys playing with dress up and role play.

She doesn't have any playmobile yet, but does have and play with a lot of small figures (we have been handed down boxes and boxes of the stuff. Sets like peppa pig, elc rosies world etc), so I would think playmobile would be a hit too.

She is getting a dolls house for christmas. She is starting to enjoy jigsaw puzzles too, so we are relegating the baby jigsaws in favour of some 'proper' ones.

Wooden trains definitly. Get a small playtable and rotate toys on it, trains, farm ,teaparty etc etc. My 2 y o spends hours pushing the trains. Bigjigs do pink princess trains....

Thanks for the ideas! Good idea about the table, it drives me a bit bonkers having everything on the floor (tiny house!).

Train fans, does it matter which make? Do I have to think about adding extra track etc (distant memories of Hornby 00 gauge as a child!)

Brio bigjigs ikea tesco thomas are all compatible. Buy a big lot on ebay and then choose some nice trains and bridgrs new. Seatch for wooden trains there are loads! You also need some odd connectors ( two pluggs or two holes etc as it will drive you mad when your masterpiece track doesnt add up!
Supermarkets do great tables including track, we got a tesco one. They usually do 3 for 2 on toys soon so you could get more stuff! Bigjigs are good too. TK maxx are stockin Brio at the moment got some light and soind trains last week!,

Thanks so much! Off to TK Maxx now!

My dd of similar age loves brio, but also very into playsets...lots to choose from (Ben and holly, peppa pig, wooden ones) just house type things that fold out with little people to put in bed/bath etc. She enjoys her cooking and teaset, and also likes happy land (similar to playmobil but much larger).
